Our Mission
The Hands to Honduras program was begun by Rotary
District 7870 covering southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire primarily
serving the communities of San Pedro Sula and Danli, Honduras, and then expanded to
Rotary District 7850 covering northern Vermont and New Hampshire primarily serving
in Tela, Honduras. Tom Plumb, a transplant from Middlebury, Vermont, to Port
Isabel, Texas, worked with District 7870 before he began District 7850's Honduran
connection and has further expanded Hands to Honduras efforts to Rotary District
5930 covering south Texas primarily serving Trujillo, Honduras. The program is a
partnership bringing together North American and Honduran communities to provide
educational, technical, cultural, and humanitarian assistance to the Trujillo,
Colon, Honduras coastal region. |
